UNICOMPARTMENTAL KNEE SURGERY Often in the early stages of the arthritis of knee, one of the two compartments(medial/inner & lateral/outer) is more involved than the other. More commonly the medial compartment is involved and the patients have symptoms of the involved compartment. UNICOMPARTMENTAL KNEE SURGERY is a procedure designed for such patients with localized disease where only the damaged parts of the knee is replaced and the healthy part is left untouched. The procedure is less invasive compared to total knee replacement, causes less bone loss and soft tissue damage, leading to early recovery with a programmed post operative physiotherapy program.
